Amichai Margolis is currently the Musical Director of the Solomon Schechter
Lower School of White Plains, NY. He is also the Musical Director of both the J.C.C. of Harrison, NY and Temple Israel Center of White Plains, NY. Amichai functions as the High Holiday Chazzan for Brown University a post he has held since 1995.
A graduate of Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI, Amichai founded and directed the Jewish a cappella group “Kol B’yachad” at Brown University. He also arranged music and sang with “Pizmon” from Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary. He was the Rosh Shira at Camp Ramah in N.E. from 1998 - 2005 where he broadened the musical repertoire of the camp as well as directed the Staff A Cappella group.
He currently lives in Riverdale, NY with his wife, Kari, and owns and operates “Joyful Studios” on the side. He recently released his debut album “Orah V’Simcha – Light and Joy” and is the leader of the “Amichai Margolis Band.” His music can be heard at: www.cdfreedom.com/amichaimargolis |
