About This:
The Adam Ezra Group, www.adamezra.com one of Boston's leading acoustic rock bands will be releasing their debut studio CD "View From The Root" on Saturday, January 23rd.

Over the past 8 years the band has been causing a buzz and just recently sold out 5 New England area shows including Passim, Cafe 939, Tupelo Music Hall (twice) and The Stone Church. The Adam Ezra Group (AEG) is not just a band, they are a force to be reckoned with musically, personally and socially. Selling records is important to AEG, but they are committed to changing the world with their songs and their actions along the way. AEG is a dynamic acoustic roots/rock band whose unique diversity of folk, pop and acoustic rock sound, perfectly combines Ezra's passion for smart well written lyrics and the bands amazing musicianship. Bringing their sound together with full, rich, complex, and hook laden melodies, the band's energy on stage is becoming legendary, as Adam and the band ignite the stage with a power that has been compared to that of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. AEG's "View from the Root" has pop sound, without departing too far from their foundation of folk/rock (often political) and roots base. The band manages to tap into world beat and funk genres, creating a track list full of surprises; they thrive on the diversity of their sound. There are many stories on this album and they all make you feel like you have lived a day in the life of Adam Ezra. The politically driven "Basement Song" with its sharp beat and honest lyrics brings you inside Ezra's world view from his basement apartment in the wee hours, clearly defining his views on government and society. "Vision", possessing a drive as yet unseen from the group, is Ezra's personal anthem of how he would like to walk through the world, inspiring positive change. He and his band truly exemplify this passion on a daily basis, devoting a portion of their touring schedule to events promoting various charities and community activism. Ezra and his band are activist and community leaders as much as they are musicians and songwriters. Ezra has spent time living out of a van, farming in Canada, volunteering for the relief effort in Kosovo, and practicing environmental geography in South Africa. Whether as a kitchen hand or carpenter, teacher, athlete, or traveler, Ezra crams it all into the music, always challenging our perspective and often teetering somewhere between the ballsy rocker and sensitive poet. The Group has recently had the honor of sharing the stage with Jackson Brown, Cracker, Little Feat, Robert Randolph and The Family Band, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, Enter The Haggis, the Goo Goo Dolls, Guster, John Mayer, Aerosmith, Dave Matthews Band, Carbon Leaf, The Wailers, Pete Seeger, State Radio (from Dispatch), The Pat McGee Band and many more. The Group's live performances have made them one of the most popular bands in Boston and was rated one of New England's top 5 mountain bands by Ski Magazine in 2007. AEG consistently draws sold out audiences to their headline shows at some of Boston's best rock venues such as The Middle East (Down) and The Roxy and Café 939. They have also been invited to prestigious festivals such as 92.9 WBOS Earthfest, and the inaugural Rothbury Festival which included Dave Matthews and John Mayer to name a few. Adam Ezra frequently plays solo acoustic shows selling out such venues as the legendary Club Passim in Harvard Square. The band is constantly touring taking clubs by storm rapidly growing a major fan base across the country.
