It’s 11pm and a smoke filled rock club begins to swarm with people. The crowd tightly packs together, pushing and shoving to get as close to the stage as possible. The atmosphere is one of heavy anticipation. In a few moments, four musicians from the south of Holland will be leading this crowd into a frenzy. The lights dim. The speakers rumble. Powerful drums, tight bass, heavy guitar and commanding vocals come together to break over the crowd like a tidal wave. Through their own expressive intensity and versatile creativity, the Army assures the people that it has indeed conquered the room. From the first moment that Sven (drums) and Dennis (bass) join forces with Vincent (guitar) and Herman (vocals and guitar), there is chemistry between them. They decide to form My Own Army after a single rehearsal. With the soldiers recruited, they suite up for war! Through varying awards and favourable reviews, My Own Army has commandeered the spotlight and aptly pointed it towards themselves. The music My Own Army makes is both dark and enigmatic as it is raw and uplifting. It is this versatility that separates My Own Army from the rest of the flock. It is with their own brand of rock that the band will recruit you and lead you joyously with them to the battlefields. In the summer of 2009, My Own Army released its first EP, “Throw Away the Silence.” They worked hard on solidifying their unique sound into album form. The lyrics will shake you and the music will push you to the limits of the ultimate rock experience.
