Evan Goodrow is a Soul singing Blues guitarist. Starting with a simple acoustic guitar, then growing up in blues bands on the North Shore of Boston, and even having pursued life as a jazz guitarist in Boston, he has converted his musical energies into what he refers to as “Modern Soul Music” (a sound fresh and new, and never dismissive of the simple raw musical talent capable in a band setting).
As a result of grassroots hard work, he has built a large body of music, won various awards and played with most of his musical heros, including B.B. King, Jimmy Buffet, Buddy Guy, Peter Frampton, G.E. Smith (from the Saturday Night Live Band), along with Susan Tedeschi, J. Geils, Sam Kininger (Soulive), and local Boston favorites Entrain, David Maxwell, and Gordon Beadle while remaining completely independent of what might be referred to as the “traditional music business” road shows and record labels.
“He’s like a cross between Stevie Wonder and Dave Matthews” -Philadelphia Weekly, 2007.
“Exceptional!” -B.B. King
“Pretty fly for a white guy!”
-Philadelphia City Paper
“Sings and grooves with the likes of Curtis Mayfield”
-The Noise Magazine (Boston, MA)
“This is a band to watch”
-Carter Allen 100.7 WZLX (Boston’s Classic Rock)
“Evan’s music makes me want to get back behind the mic again and do a big DJ shoutout to Boston and to the world.: YOU KEEP ROCKIN’ THE HOUSE, EVAN! ”
-Charles Laquidara (Historic Boston’s Big Mattress radio show) |
