About This:
GRAYSON HUGH (1980) This was my first studio album, recorded and produced by Ron Scalise at The Nineteen Recording Studio, Glastonbury, Connecticut. The experience of recording this album with my good friend Ron Scalise is a collection of many memories I will cherish forever. Ron died in December 2007, much too young. His meticulous mind and generous heart are the reasons this record was made and why it was such an unforgettable experience. We laughed as we worked, sometimes to the point of me dropping my saxophone or falling to the floor by the microphone. Ron would go to any lengths to make every note sound great. I remember the care he took in placing the microphone, recording take after take of the crickets in the bushes outside the studio for the intro of "In The Hour Of The Loon". He was an artist - and a wonderful friend. This record is dedicated to him.
