Il Papas have a story that is all rock and roll. They began in 2005 with a mission of combining their various influences to produce an eclectic, original sound. What happened was just the opposite: with their influences pulling the sound from one cohesive unit, the band struggled to find its’ direction. Although the band shared a bill with such legendary musicians as Charlie Hunter, Skerik, The Codetalkers, & Robert Walter and performed nationally, after their second tour and debut release: the departure of their lead singer and drummer.
il Papas was left as a trio: Thom Pope, Brian Cherchiglia and Matt Boyle…Amidst the auditioning process they stumbled upon Evan Berg, a thunderous drummer with the perfect new groundwork for the direction the band was headed in. About two months into composing, Evan suggested the band try out Owen McGreehan. Owen’s unique and powerful voice provided the perfect edge to il Papas’ new mission: rock music with a sound and delivery unknown and unexpected.
Reformed and finely tuned, il Papas has been resurrected: this is loud rock & roll music. Their live performances were previously heralded as unforgettable, and their chemistry is undeniable. As it’s been said before, il Papas will melt your face.
