¬Elizabeth and Scott Rhyno
Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Elizabeth and Scott met while studying Classical Music at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and were married following Elizabeth’s graduation. From there the Lord began to propel them on an adventurous journey towards ministry.
Together, Elizabeth and Scott taught Voice for the Music Department of Bethany Bible College in Sussex, NB, for 4 years. Scott received further education for ministry there while administrating the Admissions Department, and Elizabeth mothered 100+ girls each year as Women’s Resident Director. In those years, Elizabeth and Scott were blessed with their 3 precious children, Mackenzie, Morgan and Grace.
They completed 6 years at a thriving church in Presque Isle, Maine, where Scott served as Pastor of Worship Arts and Pastor of Youth. Elizabeth worked alongside of him as a Worship Leader, piano player for several worship bands, and as a Youth leader. Together, they also developed a Worship Arts Mentoring Program, CREATE!, which they administrated through their church. This proved to be a very effective outreach tool, providing opportunity to influence the hearts and lives of artists within their community.
Elizabeth began writing music consistently in 2005, as she recognized the Lord igniting her passion to develop this gift. Scott has partnered with her on many songs, both in writing and arranging. They love to experiment with different types and styles of music: Contemporary Worship, Jazz, Instrumental, both acoustic and full band. In 2007 Elizabeth was a finalist in the God-song Songwriting Competition for her song "Fly". "Undefiled Worship" was in the Top 20 in the International Unisong Competition for 2008, and was also chosen in 2009 as the signature song for a new video for the Headquarters of the Wesleyan Church.
Their desire is to continue to write new songs for the Church and society, which will influence the hearts of believers to look outward, to serve the lost and to share Christ. It is their mission to glorify the Lord, to point people toward the freedom that can only be found in Him, and to propel believers to become servants and disciplers.
Now back at Kingswood University (formerly Bethany BIble College) in New Brunswick, Scott serves as Vice President for Enrolment and Communications, and Elizabeth as Director of Worship. Parents. mentors, worship leaders, songwriters, performers and ministers, they look to the future together with hearts to continue to follow the Lord's leading.
