Kate Sullivan embraces music in a way few performers can. She draws on a vast repertoire that runs the gamut from opera to vaudeville, from motets to jazz. She is a composer, arranger, and a consummate performer. With a tremendous vocal range and an ability to change timbre and mood at will, Ms. Sullivan is a musical surprise waiting to happen. Her improvisations have gone in unexpected directions--a recent performance included Cole Porters "My Heart Belongs To Daddy" with an interlude from Bizet's "Carmen". Her programming choices often reflect fluency in several languages.
A recent release, "Lettres de Paris" was celebrated in France by the great jazz composer, Claude Bolling. One selection from the album, "La Vie En Rose" was used during the filming of the Spielberg/Dreamworks production of "The Love Letter".
