Artist:
Stephanie Corby possesses a rich, powerful voice that transcends the borders of musical style. This soulful songstress has successfully fused her classical, jazz and blues backgrounds into a distinct R&B-flavored acoustic sound. Singer/Songwriter Ellis Paul says the following about Stephanie's voice: "she has the kind of voice that makes the waters part; loud sweet and soulful…..she could have saved Moses a lot of trouble."

Born in Ashburnham, MA, Corby began singing and playing music at the age of eight. The oldest of four sisters, she received her vocal lessons from her mother and her first guitar lessons from her father. Throughout high school and college Stephanie concentrated her studies on classical and jazz vocal technique. Performing in prestigious collegiate classical vocal ensembles as a soloist she acquired her first taste for the stage. All the while, Corby jumped at any opportunity to "rip out an Aretha tune" or throw herself into a gut-wrenching blues classic.

Upon graduating from the University of Massachusetts in 1990, it was apparent that Stephanie's musical interests would lead her into R&B. She took the stage as a lead blues woman fronting the nine-piece band "Biggs Band" and built a deep repertoire of blues and R&B classics. For four years, Corby performed several nights per week fine-tuned her pure vocal talent. During this time she received private vocal coaching from a professor at the Berklee School of Music.

In the mid-90s Corby left the band and entered Boston's singer/songwriter circuit as a solo artist. She has since recorded and/or performed with artists such as Ellis Paul, Willy Porter, Greg Greenway, Kevin So, Jonathan Brd, Tom Kimmel, Tom Prasada Rao, Jimmy LaFave, Slaid Cleaves, Christopher Williams, Rachel Bissex, Eric Schwartz, etc.

In Feb 2008, Corby released her 3rd studio album "More To Show You." The album takes the listener on a soulful pop journey that occasionally veers down a country road. Recorded in North Carolina, it was produced by Jonathan Byrd and features world-class musicans such as bass player Robert Sledge (Ben Folds 5), guitarist Will McFarlane (Bonnie Raitt, Etta James, Bobby Blue Bland), Wes Lachot and Kevin Brock.
